What’s Xander’s Dragons about …

Aloha and thanks for visiting my blog! My Name is Xander, I’m 9 years old and a cancer survivor. On May 18, 2010, I was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, cancer of the lymph nodes. After 3 months of chemotherapy and 3 weeks of daily radiation therapy, I am in remission since October 2010.

The name Xander’s Dragons comes from, of course my name, and the dragons I started creating while going through cancer treatment.   I love to draw, it’s my passion in life and in the beginning of treatment I wasn’t able to draw because the smell of the paper made me nauseus, it was so frustrating. When I was able to draw again, I started to create Xander’s Dragons, an army of Cancer Fighting Dragons, the first one being, the Cancer Carnivore. These dragons feed on the cancer cells in the body and help rid kids of the disease. I am now creating the Dragons of Emotions, and the Dragons of Joy and Gloom help to keep the universal balance of emotions.

My dream now is to take Xander’s Dragons to the next level and bring my dragons to life in stuffed animal form with proceeds benefitting some of the amazing organizations, like Make a Wish, for giving us kids something to look forward to when at times it feels like the world is against you.
